Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge Review in Pictures

As in the title straight to the point. I have used a few different Sponges and "beauty blenders" for foundation or concealer application, however they did not last me very long. After just a few applications the product, well just fell apart :/ Sadly, that left me a little bit disappointed because I wanted to use something on a daily basis without the need to buy a new product every week, after all this product should not be disposable. So I stayed loyal to my brushes. However I wanted to achieve this airbrushed affect without using the airbrush set, and knowing that sponge does blend nicely I gave it another go.
I decided to try the Miracle Complexion Sponge by Real Techniques because I like their product range and quality of Real Techniques brushes. I bought mine from Amazon because I was making a bigger order anyway, I paid only £4.79.
This product is also widely available from Boots and other drug stores and across the internet and I think the price is around £5.00 everywhere. So it is not overly expensive, after all it's only a nicely profiled piece of sponge, therefore a big + for being budget friendly :)

Official product description below:

And my step-by-step application in pictures + final result....

For the best results I recommend using the sponge damp although it can be used dry if different result is required.

For comparison I applied my foundation with the sponge on half of my face and with a stippling brush on the other half...

The conclusion:
Very easy and quick application, I did use all of the sides and I must admit each side works well on any area of the face
+ As expected the result is smooth, visibility of pores is reduced and skin looks almost airbrushed

+ Easy cleaning, I washed it with my usual face wash under warm running water in 2 minutes

- If you require a full coverage (have acne or need to cover larger blemishes), you should stick to applying the foundation with the brush rather than the sponge as it blend the product well but also takes the excess off making the result more transparent

- We should wash the product after each use (at least I do) because as the foundation/concealer sets deeper in the sponge it will make it harder to wash off. Plus of course the hygienic aspect.

- I have noticed that straight after washing my sponge, it does appear deformed a bit, nothing major but it is not perfectly round anymore and does have a few creases. Which probably will not affect the whole application, however to get it back to it's "perfect", usual state we have to wait until it's dry again.

So far my Sponge is still going and has not yet broke into pieces and blends perfectly, so I say YES! If you want a natural, light and smooth effect and don't need a big coverage go for it and try it!

And here is my full make-up result, no photoshop so you can see how well this sponge works (of course I blended the foundation on other side of my face, where I used a brush before, with the sponge to even it out :P)
